CARVED-TOP OCTAVE-MANDOLIN
Like a friend of mine
pointed out : the difference in the sound of a carved-top instrument in
comparison to a flat-top instrument is that the Ctop sounds more "compressed".
It has a concentrated, punchier response and still has a short enough scale
length to impart the characteristic percussive sound that is found in
mandolins.
Available only with a carved-top configuration, I can build a 10 string 'mid-scale' cittern. Adding a low D course on the bass end will give an sample tuning of DGDAE >EVERY NYBERG
octave-mandolin incorporates solid body plates, a mahogany
neck, ebony fingerboard and bridge, chrome precision tuning heads, chrome
strap buttons, bone nut and saddle and includes a hardshell case. Lifetime warranty. |
