FLAT-TOP OCTAVE-MANDOLIN
An octave-mandolin works excellent for someone who isn't ready for the finger stretches of bouzouki playing but desiring at least a similiar depth of tone. At 22.5" the OM is 3" shorter but uses a tuning like the bouzouki. My flat-top OMs have a punchy sustain and cut through in volume over other instruments in an acoustic jam. Like my bouzoukis they don't have to be played hard to get pleasing results. I use a discernable induced-arch back that brings out better projection and volume compared to carved backs. It also helps keep the instrument more affordable in terms of material usage. The tops are handplaned and tuned to achieve the correct tone and strength. EVERY NYBERG
OM incorporates solid body plates, a mahogany
neck, ebony fingerboard and bridge, adjustable truss rod (through soundhole), chrome precision tuning heads, chrome
strap buttons, a signature nyberg cast tailpiece, bone nut and saddle and includes a hardshell archtop case. Lifetime warranty. |
