 One of my customers asked me to build a replica of his very old and ailing Washburn parlour guitar. The project turned out so splendidly that I decided to offer this guitar as one of my stock designs. The tone of this little beauty is captivating. Brilliance and a special percussive response mix with a gentle warmth of timbre (see soundfile below). I reproduced many of the original motifs including : bound inner rim of soundhole, flower inlays on bridge, partial-V contoured neck, acrved volute at headstock join, and ornate backstrip. I even went as far as to hand dye veneer strips to match the shade of red used on the back binding purfling. Waverley tuning heads add an elegant flare, although I will list these as an optional extra due to their high price. Originally the wide neck of 47mm worked well for players migrating from the classical guitar, but I have made this model available also in the more modern 45mm width.
